Common questions
How booking works
Pick one or more services, choose a time, and confirm. Your stylist has one hour to accept. Nothing is charged until they set off to you.
When you're charged
Nothing is taken when you book. Your payment method is charged once your stylist sets off, and if it doesn't go through, you'll get a short window to try again.
If your stylist is running late
Track them live once they're on the way. If something's wrong, raise a dispute from the booking screen and our team steps in.
Cancelling a booking
Free any time before your stylist sets off. Once they're on the way, use Raise a dispute instead.
Live tracking
Your stylist's location shares automatically once they tap On My Way, until the service is done.
Phone numbers
Your number and your stylist's share automatically 15 minutes before the appointment, so you can coordinate access.
The one-time ₦50 charge
First bookings need a quick payment check: a non-refundable ₦50 confirms your payment method works. It's a one-time thing per account. Other payment methods work too, but a card keeps future charges automatic without reopening the app.
Leaving a review
Once your service is marked complete, you can rate your stylist and leave a review from the booking screen.
If your stylist suggests a new time
Before accepting, a stylist can suggest a different time for your booking. You'll get a notification with the new time to accept or decline. If you don't respond in time, the suggestion expires and your original booking request continues as normal.
When a stylist asks to use a photo
A stylist may ask to use a photo from your session on their portfolio. You'll get a notification to approve or decline, entirely your call. Declining just means the photo isn't used, nothing else changes.
Raising a dispute
Raise one from the booking screen any time before the 2-hour auto-release window closes. A VARS admin reviews it, usually within 24 hours, and a refund follows if it's warranted.
How stylists are verified
Every stylist passes identity and biometric liveness verification through Youverify before they can go live. Their profile photo is the same face that passed verification, by design.
Transport surcharge
Bookings more than 5km from a stylist's zone centre add a transport surcharge, currently ₦4,000 to ₦15,000 depending on distance, calculated automatically at booking. The exact amount is shown before you confirm. No hidden charges beyond that.
If a payment doesn't go through
If the charge fails when the stylist sets off, the customer gets a short window to retry with a different card. If it's not resolved in that window, the booking cancels automatically, no charge, and both sides are notified.
